Iranian film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter who is known for his films Killing Mad Dogs (2001), Pothole (2009), and I Hate the Dawn (2013).
He was a theatre actor before he began appearing in and directing films. In the year 2008, he took part in Abbas Kiarostami's directors' workshop during which time he made his first short entitled Yellow, Blue, Red. He then worked as Kiarostami's assistant on Shirin before completing a second short called The Lift.
He's also worked as an assistant director. He enjoys photography.
He was born and raised in Tehran, Iran.
He dedicated his film I Hate the Dawn to fellow director Abbas Kiarostami.
