Irish Composer and Conductor known for his short orchestral pieces, including "Echoes of Georgian Dublin," which was inspired by Handel. His play "Cadenza in Black" premiered at the Gate Theatre in 1937.

He attended the Royal Irish Academy of Music under Charles Herbert Kitson. His original plans included ministry with the Church of Ireland, but he eventually decided against religious-oriented studies.
