They are known as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s and were looked at as Australia's answer to the Beatles. Their debut studio album Easy was released in 1965 and reached #4 in Australia. The Easybeats had #1 singles in Australia with the songs "Easyfever", "Sorry", and "Friday On My Mind". After The Easybeats, Vanda formed Vanda & Young with George Young. The pair wrote songs for David Bowie, INXS, Stevie Wright, Pat Travers Band, Rod Stewart, John Paul Young, Bay City Rollers, Flash and the Pan, and Meat Loaf. Vanda and Young were inducted into the inaugural class of the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1988.
