Singer-songwriter and musician most well known for the Idan Raichel Project, a fusion of electronic music, traditional Hebrew texts, and Arab and Ethiopian music. His debut album with the Idan Raichel Project went quintuple platinum in 2002.
Before Fame
At the age of nine, he learned to play the accordion and would eventually learn to play jazz piano in high school. By eighteen, he was performing with the Israel Defense Forces army band. He eventually began his commercial career playing backup for popular stars.
Trivia
His 2005, 2008, and 2013 albums Mi'ma'amakim, Within My Walls, and Quarter to Six all went triple platinum in Israel.

His longtime partner, Damaris Deubel, is Australian. The couple have two daughters.
