She began acting as a child, appearing in 1987's "Walk Like a Man", "Hardball", and "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys". Parlen landed a few other smaller parts, including an appearance in an episode of "Boy Meets World", before scoring the role for which she's best known today as Mary-Beth Pepperton on NBC's "Hang Time".
