Better known as Fujiko Fujio, a pen name he shared with his longtime artistic collaborator Hiroshi Fujimoto, this manga Artist rose to fame for a Japanese comic book series called Doraemon and went on to produce other popular comics, including Obake no Q Taro and Magical Sahara.
