She began studying rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4. She progressed to master class level before switching to acting. She studied at the prestigious Moscow Art Theater School.
Her first role as Nastya surviving an alien invasion in 1990's Posrednik made her an overnight sensation.
She married Sergei Dzeban in 2009. They have two sons, Artyom and Sergeevich. Her parents were both Soviet era-trained engineers.
