Oliver Robins is a Writer, Actor, and Director who began his career in the film industry at the age of ten, starring in Steven Spielberg's "Poltergeist." At fifteen, he wrote, directed, and produced The Crystal, which won first prize at the French "Les Mesnil-le-Roi" Film Festival. After graduating from the University of Southern California Film School's Production Program, he wrote, directed, and produced close to fifty industrial, short, and feature films. His feature teen comedies, "Dumped" and "Wild Roomies," were released to DVD internationally. The Hallmark Channel recently produced Oliver's screenplay "You've Got A Friend," which aired to the best ratings ever for a June original movie premiere in the network's history. Oliver will also direct Treasure Entertainment's "Prom Date," another teen comedy scheduled to go into production in mid 2010.

His first film roles were in the 1982 TV movie Million Dollar Infield, and in the 1982 ABC TV movie Don't Go to Sleep as Kevin. He is best known for his role as Robbie Freeling in the 1982 movie Poltergeist and in its 1986 sequel Poltergeist II: The Other Side. Oliver's other feature film role was in the 1982 comedy Airplane II: The Sequel.

1986

Robins left the acting Business after 1986. As an adult, he returned to show Business as a Writer and Director. In 2000, he wrote and directed his first film, Dumped, which was released directly to video, and also wrote and directed Roomies in 2004. He wrote the 1999 movie Eating L.A.. Following the deaths of Dominique Dunne and Heather O'Rourke, Robins is the only surviving Poltergeist child actor, as well as the longest lived.
