Former attacking midfielder that played soccer professionally from 1993 up until 2005. He gained popularity primarily from his years with Spanish La Liga team Barcelona during the 1990s. Shortly after retiring, he earned his first coaching job with Catalonia as an assistant manager.
He first began playing soccer as a child with the Mercantil youth club. He later joined Barcelona's youth squad in 1984.
During his professional playing career, he was also given the opportunity to play for the Spanish men's national team. In fact, he played for Team Spain during the 1996 Summer Olympics. Aside from Barcelona, he played for four other clubs. Throughout the course of his career, he scored more than 30 goals.
Growing up, he lived with his family in Sabadell, Spain. He is one of three brothers.
He played alongside Diego Simeone as a member of the Spanish men's national team during the 1996 Summer Olympics.
