Singer-songwriter best known for co-writing the Grammy-nominated duet "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed" along with her mentor Prince. She made her Broadway debut in "Motown, the Musical" in 2014. In 2016, she competed on The Voice as a member of Team Christina.
Before Fame
She was honored as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts during high school where she also received 3 Gold medals in the NAACP ACT-SO competition. In her early 20s, she began singing with jazz legend Lee Ritenour and Grammy-nominee Tamia. Then she created Syren Music Group, LLC, through which she released her independent album My Name is Tamar in 2011.
