Tru Collins is an American actress and indie-pop singer from Richmond, Virginia. She attended the Professional Performing Arts School and studied at NYU and New School University. She has guest starred on Showtime's Masters of Sex and recurred as Julie on MTV's Awkward. As a singer, she has performed with Grammy-winning soul singer Latrice Varrett and opened for Aretha Franklin at the Nokia Theatre Times Square. She also joined Atlantic's multi-platinum progressive rock band Trans-Siberian Orchestra as a vocalist, touring arenas across North America. In 2012, she performed with DJ Ravi Drums, Kitara player Craig Dobbin, and rapper Wes Period at the Air Canada Center Arena in Toronto Canada. In 2015, Tru joined Steven Seagal's blues band Thunderbox for a European tour and performed with George Benson at the Cognac Blues Festival in Cognac, France. Her debut solo EP, Story of A Gypsy Child, was released in February 2015.
