Tulip Joshi is an Indian actress born in Mumbai, India to a Hindu Gujerati father and a Christian Lebanese mother. She studied at Mithibai College in Food and Chemistry and participated in and excelled in sports activities. She was noticed for her slender figure and charm at the wedding reception of Yash Chopra's son, Aditya, and was asked to audition for a role in 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'. Her parents disapproved of her appearing in commercials and on the silver screen, resulting in her being depressed for almost a year. She made her reappearance in a Telegu movie 'Villain' and then in 'Dil Maange More' in 2003. In 2005 she made a come-back with 'Matrubhoomi' and went on to sign for lead roles in 'Shoonya' and 'Hostel'. She has since converted to Kimmaya, a religious order founded by her present boyfriend/spouse, Captain Vinod Nair.

2000

Tulip entered the Femina Miss India in 2000. She did not make it to the list of winners but was noticed by many advertising agencies. She appeared in a number of advertising campaigns for big brands (Ponds, Pepsi, Siyaram, BPL, Smirnoff, Tata Sky mobile TV, etc.). She also appeared in a video made as a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

2009

She appeared in her first Punjabi film in 2009 called Jag Jeondeyan De Mele with famous Punjabi singer and actor, Harbhajan Maan. She again acted with Harbhajan Mann in 2011 in Yaara O Dildaara, the Punjabi movie.

2010

In 2010, she acted in a Kannada film directed by Upendra titled Super. The movie was a superhit in Kannada. This movie is also being dubbed in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

2013

Joshi was seen in her next Punjabi film Jatt Airways opposite Alfaaz, and directed by Harjeet Ricky. The movie was released on 30 August 2013.
