Professional ice hockey player who has played for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). In his career, he has played for other teams like the Buffalo Sabres and the Chicago Blackhawks. He was picked by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL entry draft.
He played college hockey at the University of Notre Dame. He played for two seasons before signing with the Chicago Blackhawks. Hinostroza played for the Chicago Mission AAA Youth Hockey Club (where his future NHL teammates Ryan Hartman and Nick Schmaltz also played).
He first represented the United States in the 2011 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. In the year 2016, he was a part of the United States team at the Ice Hockey World Championships.
