Professional reliever that was drafted by the Washington Nationals during the second round of the 2017 Major League Draft. He was later acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates via trade in December 2020. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at the University of South Carolina.
He is a graduate of the Pigeon Forge High School in Sevier County, Tennessee. After his senior season, he was originally drafted by the Cleveland Guardians.
He made his official major league debut pitching against the Miami Marlins on August 22, 2020 as a member of the Nationals. He was the fifth ranked MLB prospect in the Nationals organization. He was drafted twice by the Cleveland organization, declining both offers in favor of returning to school to play ball.
He now lives along with his wife, Hilary. He is a native of Kingston, Tennessee.
