He studied filmmaking at UCLA Film School and his first film, Evidence Of Tradition, was voted Best Film of the Year. At age 20, his first screenplay won the prestigious Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award. Tepper was then cast in Jack Nicholson's directorial debut, Drive, He Said, and his performance was praised by critics. He went on to guest-star on episodic television shows, write and produce films, and act in Breathless and Bachelor Party. Tepper has also worked as a script doctor for major studios and wrote for the T.V. series The Street. In 2014, he wrote, directed, and produced the award-winning romantic comedy The Duchess Of Love.
