About
Author, educator and motivational speaker known for her interest in spirituality, psychology, relationships and personal development. She is the first female instructor at the AlMaghrib Institute, an Islamic studies institute founded in Houston. Her first book 2012's Reclaim Your Heart, became a huge hit amongst Muslim women right across the world. She taught Islamic Studies and worked as a writing instructor for Cardinal Stritch University.
At 14, she said there was a spark inside her which led her to become more devout. She completed a BSc degree in psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also earned an MS degree in journalism and mass communications.
She has written columns for Huffington Post and InFocus News. She hosted Serenity, a show on One Legacy Radio.
Her sister is Dalia Mogahed, who was selected as an advisor by Barack Obama on the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
She and Kat Torres are both motivational speakers.
